• Estimates are free of charge, and give a good guide as to the final price.
• Estimates can be done over the phone or email, photos help.
• The final price may be more or less than the estimate. I will try to obtain approval in the event of foreseeable cost overruns.
• Estimates are suited for smaller jobs, where the cost of a separate site visit for a quotation is not economical.

• Quotes normally require a site visit, and hence incur a cost.
• All things being equal the quote will be the final price. I will do my best to make that happen, but the final price may vary from the quotation in certain circumstances - read further for examples.
• I will try to obtain approval in the event of foreseeable cost overruns.

Examples of circumstances that may increase the final price, are:

• Requests by the customer for extra work or re-work.
  For example to fix an extra plaster hole, or to re-paint in a different colour.
• Saftey issues.
  For example the discovery of asbestos, or exposed electrical wiring.
• Site access delays.
  For example no one is home, or the provided keys dont work.
• Undisclosed information.
  For example power being disconnected from the site, or other contractors scheduled to be working onsite at the same time.
• Supplier shortages.
  For example materials must be sourced from further away, or substituted with more expensive materials.
• Events beyond the control of MP Workman.
  For example discovery of rot, or unexpected weather affecting painting.

Services or work completed are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship for 30 days. It is the responsibility of the customer to notify MP Workman within the 30 day timeframe in order to receive warranty work.

Services or work performed and materials purchased up until the job is cancelled, must be paid for. The job may be cancelled at the customer's request, or if it is unsafe or otherwise infeasible to continue in the opinion of MP Workman.

Prices/Fees are:

• Labour Rate = $60/hr.
• Call Out Fee (this covers attendance up to 15mins away) = $45.
• Minimum Engagement = 1hr.
• Minimum Charge = Call Out Fee + Minimum Engagement = $105.
• Travel Rate = $90/hr.
• Material Markup = 0%

About the Call Out Fee and the Travel Rate:
The Call Out Fee is based off the Travel Rate for 2 x 15mins travel.
If the work site is over 15mins away additional travel time is charged at the Travel Rate.
The Travel Rate of $90/hr is only covering costs, at minimum casual wage appx $30/hr and at the ATO calculated rate "85 cents per kilometre for 2023–24".

Penalty rates:
MP Workman does not normally schedule work outside of normal business hours.
On special arrangement it would be considered.
MP Workman must also consider the Building and Construction General On-site Award 2020 in negotiations.
